Boondle

Privacy policy

Effective 9 July 2026

Boondle is made by DenWorks, an independent studio based in the United Kingdom. DenWorks is the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy explains what data the Boondle iOS app handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your puzzles and progress live on your device, we don't ask you to create an account, and we never sell your data.

What stays on your device

Your gameplay, meaning puzzle progress, completion history, streaks, settings, and your BoonCoin balance, is stored locally on your device. We do not require an account or sign-in to play, and we cannot see this data.

What we collect

Usage analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect usage data, such as which games are played, how often, and general device information (model, iOS version, and coarse location such as country). We use it to understand how Boondle is used and make it better. Analytics stays off until you say yes: the app asks when you first play, and you can change your mind at any time in the app's settings. This data is tied to a random app-instance identifier, not to your name, email address, or any account, because Boondle has none. Google acts as our data processor for it.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics collects a diagnostic report (device model, iOS version, and the technical state of the app at the time) so we can find and fix the problem. Crash reports do not contain your gameplay history or your name. Google acts as our data processor here too. You can read how Firebase handles data in theFirebase privacy information.

Purchases

BoonCoin packs are bought through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details. We receive anonymised transaction records from Apple so purchases can be delivered and, where required, restored. Apple's handling of your payment data is covered by theApple Privacy Policy.

Notifications

Boondle can send a daily puzzle reminder. Notifications are optional: you choose whether to allow them when asked, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.

What we don't do

Our lawful basis

Usage analytics is collected only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app's settings. Where crash data counts as personal data, we rely on our legitimate interests in keeping Boondle stable. For purchases, the processing is necessary to deliver a BoonCoin pack you have bought. Notifications are sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

International transfers

The usage and crash data described above is processed for us by Google, which may store it on servers in the United States. That transfer is protected by Google LLC's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, which the UK and EU recognise as providing adequate protection.

How long we keep data

On-device data stays until you delete the app or clear it in the app. Usage analytics is retained for up to two months, and crash reports for around 90 days, after which data is deleted or kept only in aggregate.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR / GDPR) you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction, and erasure. You can withdraw your consent to analytics at any time in the app's settings, and you have the right to object to processing we base on legitimate interests, such as crash reporting. Because the usage and crash data we collect is tied only to a random app-instance identifier, we usually cannot link it back to you. If you have any question or request, contact us and we will help. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk, or with your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU or EEA.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be called out in the app's release notes.
